Zagreb experienced a true heavy metal spectacle last night – the legendary Udo Dirkschneider performed in Croatia for the first time, leaving club Boogaloo in flames! This historic evening, part of the 40th-anniversary tour of the “Balls to the Wall” album, brought together metal fans from across the region who witnessed a concert that will be talked about for years to come.

The night kicked off with the power of the local scene – Zagreb-based band Flesh opened the event with their uncompromising heavy metal. Their raw energy and powerful riffs immediately ignited the atmosphere, while songs from their upcoming album “Feeding Frenzy” proved that the local metal scene has plenty to offer.

Next up, the stage was taken over by the Turkish hard rock tornado The Madcap, whose wild stage energy further fired up the audience. Their fierce, groove-laden rock’n’roll – enriched with powerful guitar riffs, blistering solos, and Izgi’s impressive vocal range from emotional passages to high-pitched screams – perfectly set the stage for what was to come: the moment everyone was eagerly awaiting.

At exactly 9:30 PM, the unmistakable voice of one of heavy metal’s most iconic singers echoed through Boogaloo. Udo Dirkschneider and his band took the stage before a roaring crowd and delivered a set filled with metal nostalgia and unstoppable energy. The legendary “Balls to the Wall” rang out louder than ever, followed by a string of tracks that helped shape the history of the genre.

It was both legendary and almost surreal to see Udo and Peter Baltes, former Accept bassist, together on stage in full force! Dirkschneider proved why he still holds the status of an indestructible metal icon – his vocals remain powerful, the band played flawlessly, and the crowd was ecstatic. Zagreb’s audience returned the energy in full – every chorus was sung in unison, fists were raised high, and the atmosphere was electric from start to finish.

After an uncompromising two hours of pure metal, Udo and his band bid farewell to Zagreb amid thunderous applause and chants from fans who didn’t want to let them leave the stage. This concert has earned its place in the annals of the Croatian metal scene, and fans can only hope this won’t be the last time the legendary Udo visits. Dirkschneider kicked off his tour in Zagreb, and everyone who witnessed this performance knows they were part of a historic moment in the local metal scene – a night that will be remembered and retold for years!
